Bali provides an eclectic mix of pubs and hangouts amid their beaches, so we’ve assembled some of Balis best beach bars in addition to some handy tips along the way…
Kuta shore — Velvet Hypnotised
Kuta is the main drag, it’s a beach that is renowned but crowded and there may be traffic in peak season. It is far better to sit upstairs in the Velvet Hypnotized (VH) — open air restaurant on the third floor of Beachwalk Theater across the street from the shore — for sunset drinks. The mall is also good for shopping — notably clothes.
Canggu Beach — Echo Beach, House
Perfect for beachside food — eat at the restaurant called “Echo Beach” — not at any of the areas nearer the entrance. Because you run from the entry head left into the end of the row of restaurants and you will reach Echo Beach where you’ll be greeted with a huge choice of delicious food. This is more quiet than the primary drag, but you can hire loungers and umbrellas — and get beer brought to you.
Uluwatu Beach — Delphi Rock Café
This is situated in the southern region of the island. Head down lots of steps, then up a few more and you come to a restaurant perched on the cliff. For watching down the surfers below, A fantastic location. The walk to it’s precarious, and maybe not for young kids or anybody less steady on their toes.
Batu Belig Beach — Mozaic Beach Club
This is north of the primary drag at the end of Jalan Batu Belig. There are two different types of location here: Mozaic Beach Club is yet another location for sunset cocktails — (arrive early if you want a beachfront dining table), while further along there are a range of casual beach bars with cheap food and beer. The beach remains silent compared to Kuta, but becoming busier. Cantina at the far end has beanbags on the beach and is an unofficial location that is gay-ish.
Unique Rooftop pub and restaurant
By day, Unique is a chic pool club and by night it becomes a hubbub of activity. A spectactular sunset spot it functions views from its rooftop location and spectacular cofktails. It’s design is trendy and modern and its own own food yummy. Well worth a trip for treetop viewstipples and a buzzing atmosphere.
