Gazing out of the deck of a cruise ship is one of the best ways to see the planet — just ask the millions of cruisers leaving from vents each year. Contrary to popular belief, cruise holidays don’t need to involve weeks spent at sea without a sight of property. Many itineraries pack in a huge selection of destinations and opportunities to vent in some of the cities that the world has to offer you. Here are just a couple of worth checking out…

1Dubrovnik, Croatia
Itineraries which take from the Mediterranean are a few of the hottest, and for very good reason. There’s plenty of breath-taking towns and cities to explore this, including the stone in Croatia’s crown — Dubrovnik. Terracotta roofs and baroque churches fill the city, which happens to break closely into the shoreline and supplies cruisers an awe-inspiring view as they pass by on the water.
2Vancouver, Canada
If you’re after a varied itinerary that keeps you on your toes, it doesn’t get a lot more varied than Vancouver. Vast expanses of forest, mountain scenery and glistening bodies of water constitute the landscape of this city that is majestic. Depending on what time of year you see, vent trips vary from racing ski slopes down to sunning yourself on beaches backed by rugged, mountainous backdrops.
3Casablanca, Morocco
The biggest city in Morocco, Casablanca is home to an African cruise port using a gap. The town boasts any number of landmarks, from the Royal Palace to the abundance of Art Deco buildings which compose the city centre. Before you hit on land, views of the Hassan II mosque’ll greet you because you sail into port.
4Barcelona, Spain
The bustling city of Barcelona is a sight to behold on board a cruise boat, packed with vibrant colors and bathed in the Spanish sun for a great proportion of the year. Some of the cruise lines in the world sail here, while gazing out across the city makes the experience even more spectacular.
5Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
South America is home to some of the most beautiful cruise ports in the world, and the stunning city of Rio de Janeiro is no exception. Cruisers can take from the mesmerising Copacabana Beach, finish with striking blue waters surrounding it. The famous statue of Christ the Redeemer is visible from a cruise boat, while views across Sugarloaf Mountain make for a truly memorable trip.
6Helsinki, Finland
Very few European skylines are as magnificent as that of Helsinki — or as underrated. The fjords are a portion of the world throughout, with natural wonders to research — while the city of Helsinki makes for the antidote. Highlights include the famous Helsinki Cathedral, as well as the Finnish National Theatre.
