Antigua has long been a romantic vacation destination of choice and also if you are searching for a rejuvenating stay on the island that is idyllic, look no further than Cocos Hotel.
Overlooking the sparkling waters and located on an ocean bluff, Cocos is a selection of 30 boutique Cottages, each one offering a tranquil respite.
As soon as we came at Cocos we were made to feel welcome- the team specifically made it clear nothing was too much trouble.
We walked past a wedding, as we were shown to our cabin . What better way to spend with its picturesque and scenic views?
We were able to take in the views for they’re something 30, this Resort has to offer after we’d settled in with our luggage. Soft white sand lends itself to sparkling waters as far as the eye could see. The room itself was amazing- large in size and full of little touches such as a flower petals it cemented itself farther . Our balcony has been the perfect spot to get a late-afternoon drink and to watch the sunset. All of it felt very special.
The mattress was comfortable and four-poster. The showers to the room were out truly lend themself into the caribbean experience, and are very popular in resorts on the island. There was no TV in the room, however why would you return to sit inside and watch television?
Although we had a walk up a mountain for our area the Hotel grounds were all maintained and blooming with vivid colors, these made it pleasurable!
Down on the beach is the beach bar, open from 10 until an perfect snack-stop and 6 whilst sunbathing and swimming on the beach. Supplying everything and cocktails to snacks at a bar or waiter service, they assured we were well cared for. And if you’re in the mood for a BBQ, there’s one on the shore served from 4-5, a nice additional touch. It’s an perfect spot the sounds of the sea, swim, snorkle and just unwind, to lie on the comfortable loungers and the smell of the BBQ from the backdrop.
Dinner at Cocos is served within their restaurant nestled at the cliff and with all all the perspectives its know for. Tranquil intimate, it offers a mixture of global cuisine with a local influence, a lot of the produce sourced from nearby fishermen and farmers. Acoustic, live music has been an ideal accompaniment for your own meal and truly added to the atmosphere. I enjoyed a bean salad to begin, followed by roast chicken after which a pecan pie for dessert. It was tasty and real testament to the chef. The service was good and our waitress lovely.
After dinner I would advise you (as we did) visit the Hotel bar. There’s plenty of comfy seating and a vibrant setting, ideal for an after-dinner cocktail whilst watching the sun set across the sea.
I would recommend Cocos Hotel for a romantic getaway which you’re never going to forget.
