Nestled a short walk from Victoria station (a mere five minutes across the corner) The Georgian House Hotel is as practical as it’s magical.
Having a ground floor offering Enchanted and Wizard Chambers, it offers away.
However, whilst you are wondering if the issue is a tribute to the famous wizarding school, it is only the basement floor — where the chambers are hidden by a secret magical bookcase. The remaining part of the resort is an perfect destination for folk, encapsulating the sense of a boutique Hotel that is traditional, with modern decor that’s both homey and elegant, a welcoming dining room and a reception room.
As we arrive to a bitterly cold winter day, the cosy inside is a respite from London’s weather. With is the Hotel’s character, it seems lived in, stimulating and it also feels a and reassuring bit like home.
Our room is on the second floor at the front of the Hotel. The walls are a midnight floods in from two large windows overlooking the street below, enveloping everything in a haze that is diluted.
The room is not particularly big, but for what it lacks in size it makes up for in personality. There sits A yellow phone on the nightstand, flowering flowers decorate a fireplace and orange cushions lie upon a white bedspread.
A tartan blanket onto also an antler sculpture on the wall along with the bed add a vibe that is rustic, taking you from the streets of south London and whisking one to weekend. The bathroom is small, but compact. A downside isn’t a bathroom, but the shower is refreshing and strong. The White Company toiletries are a welcome addition.
E went on a tour of the chambers in the basement and they really are essential for any enthusiast that was wizarding. Each area is reminiscent of those rooms in the films, complete with trunks beneath the beds and the wall hangings! And in case you can not get enough of this magic, they also provide copies of these books that you read.”
Also as double and twin rooms there is also the family area, perfect for bringing the children on a memorable visit to town.
Being a B&B, The House Hotel makes up for not serving dinner by serving a breakfast that blows the lid off of early morning dishes. The dining area is larger than it seems and is decorated. It’s a spacious area for skylights and board meetings to flood light in the streets over.
My partner opted for the complete English and I, in a bid to become fit, determined the muesli. My muesli was delicious, full of tastes and there was plenty of it, however I will confess I experienced definite food envy if my spouse’s plate piled with fat sausages, gold eggs, crispy hash browns and a generous couple pieces of bacon was put down. He announced it one of the English’s he has ever eaten.
As well as breakfast, a delicious afternoon tea is also offered by the Pantry within the Georgian House Hotel. Packed with a range of cakes, fat scones and delicious sandwiches it’s worth going just for it, even if you don’t stay in the Resort.
The Georgian House Hotel really is an ideal choice for a break away. If you are searching for a Resort that has advantage, practicality and can be filled full of charm (and magical) look no more.
Head down to the Georgian House Hotel for a break away.
