Inspired by 163 acres of Gloucestershire parkland along with a whole world away from the hustle and bustle of City life, Tewkesbury Park Hotel is an ideal picturesque break. The Hotel has just undergone a renovation and the hard work put forth from the new family owners is evident in every aspect.
The exterior does little to reveal what lies behind the doorways and is simple and white. The Entry is simplistic and modern to dining room and a chic bar to the right and a corridor and stairway with splashes of bright colour and leads right ahead that takes you to the bedrooms. Throughout our stay we were in one of their opulence suites. There are six of these from the Resort and all have beautiful bay windows with views of countryside and the golf courseended baths, sumptuous furnishings and a whole array of touches.
In the beds, to the breathtaking rose-gold tin tub pride of place from the bay windows, this was the perfect sanctuary for a wholesome dose of R&R. Fresh fruit has been placed in the area and styling has been splashed throughout, from vases and decorations into the decor.
The resort is home to a range of leisure facilities- famous for its golf course with perspectives, and there is also a spa, fully-equipped gym and dance studio. The spa partners with the Organic Spa Factory of Bath, offering a variety of remedies. From manicures to facials to an indulgent 70 minute seasonal body recharge there’s something for everyone (and you won’t be disappointed!)
There is also an indoor pool, sauna and a outdoor hottub which are perfect for spending the afternoon.
Dining at Tewkesbury Park is an adventure in itself. There are a couple of dining choices to choose from, based on your mood. In resort bar or the leisure for snacks and afternoon teas into the light and airy Garden Restaurant with views there really is something for everybody.
And regardless of where you dine, emphasis is placed on serving dishes that are locally sourced and delicious home-cooked. The feel proceeds deep into the Hotel’s veins and the dining is different. You feel cared for, welcome and right at home.
During our stay we ate in the Garden Restaurant where they serve a mouth watering a la carte menu all year round (along with a delicious full-english the morning after.) Mains include a range of meat fish and vegetarian dishes with Crackling into Whipped Goats Cheese Mousse out of Potted Ham Hock Confit .
Mains are varied. If you are a fish fan their Market Fish of the day is a must (it is freshly landed by the Brixham ships and you can definitely relish in the freshness) for meat fans the Gloucester Old Spot Pork Three Ways has to be in your menu and also for almost any vegetarians, their Crispy Herb Polenta and Whipped Cotswold Cerney Ash Goats Cheese is a true no-brainer. Prices are fair and the view memorable. As you sit food before you, a tipple in one hand and the view of the sun setting over the Gloucstershire countryside, it is hard to pitcure anywhere more ideal. As a restaurant venture or whether as a guest of the Hotel, this restaurant is truly not one to overlook. It is a dining experience that is distinctive.
Tewksbury Park is. Every single inch of the Resort is ideal. The decoration tasteful, classy and beautiful, the rooms a haven from the outside world and the team some of the finest we’ve ever experienced. The refurb has just finished mid-2016 and see just what wonders are done to the place to make it even better and we can’t wait to head back.
