With resorts they offer you a happy harbor. We stayed at the Amari Watergate, and couldn’t have asked for anywhere better.
We were due to arrive at the resort to experience the world class Thai on 4 restaurant, among those resorts six dining choices. This smart restaurant is famous for its Royal Thai Cuisine. . After a receptionist ensured everything in the area was ready for us, regrettably as a result of a delayed flight, we ended up checking into the hotel after midnight he had our bags taken up to the 34th floor. Upset that reservations had been missed by us for cocktails and decided to make a beeline for bed after we walked to our room at the Amari Watergate, happiness was restored.
The Room
We had an executive club room that was incredibly spacious. After popping down our bags we noticed that a beautiful bunch of red roses on the bed and a notice, the card wanted us a Happy Valentines day and a great stay at The Amari Watergate signed off from Roger, sadly despite asking at reception and lots of members of staff at the hotel, we never found out that Roger was! Roger whomever you are, thank you.
The area has a more than ample size working space, if the necessity to work is needed (although we would not advocate operating in Bangkok, there’s a lot of fun things to do!) Two superbly made beds had some artwork above them. The space overall comes with an feel with Thai touches that ensure comfort that is supreme and relaxation.
With a few of those walls being a door which opened up to the bedroom, the bathroom was amazing. We could imagine take in the spectacular view from the room and that is to relax after a day in the bath.
After seeing the city lit up at night and the sunrise the following day, we were no more let down about overlooking the views from Sky Bar. What the area offered was unbelievable, and enticed you into the city.
There is a very strong stand alone shower and a large sink area with water and toiletries and marble finishings to make sure a high end experience in every way.
Breakfast
You wouldn’t opt to eat breakfast anywhere else, when remaining in an Executive Club area, you’ve got access to the Executive Lounge for breakfast , again with a view to behold. We requested a table along with our dreams were given. The room was big floral touches, with a glass and staircase chandelier design light.
We were spoilt for choice at this buffet breakfast with a range of new artisan breads, a wide range of cereal, a selection of freshly cooked eggs which you wait for whilst they cook it in front of you, smiling and ensuring that the service you are getting is exceptional to no end.
A outdoor balcony area is adjoined to the room, which unfortunately wasn’t open when we were having breakfast but it could be a wonderful spot.
The Pool Area
We had been gutted that we had weather during our pool time since the loungers would have made for a relaxing day around the pool and lawns. We spent some time in the pool bar enjoying a Singha. The team were incredibly busy setting up amazing canopy dining areas to get a valentines meal at the hotel before we could respect the piece so we head back indoors it began to thunderstorm. As soon as we return to Bangkok, ideally we will be able to enjoy the pool in all of its glory — it is in fact a beautiful region that gives you tranquillity in the midst of mayhem.
The resort is situated walking distance so we sadly checked out and made our way into the airport. The wcheck out procedure was made as easy as possible for us — We were guaranteed a cab would be waiting in the door to take us to the airport at once, and they thankfully helped us haul our bags to the taxi and wished us a safe journey home.
